Poplar Creek Golf Club (formerly San Mateo Golf Club) has been serving their membership since 1933.

  Tournament Signup Procedures

You will need Adobe Reader to view .pdf files.  It is available free. 

 

Purpose:  To communicate the complete tournament signup procedure to the membership, especially aimed at the newer members.

Carefully examine the play sheet online or posted at the course for any specific information, which is important to that tournament.  Often times, you will see specific requirements such as the number of players that can signup, or possibly the maximum # of strokes allowed between you and your partner, for some formats, etc.

The new signup process requires all members to fill out a Tournament Entry Form, include a check and either mail to the address indicated, by the cutoff date or drop off in the lock box located at the GHIN computer in the pro shop, by the cutoff date.

bulletUnfortunately, you will not have any confirmation of your signup or your special requests, until the tee times are prepared and posted.  You can check the web page approximately ONE WEEK before the tournament or visit the course and look for the tee times, on the bulletin board in the restaurant, near the front restroom area.  If you cannot do either of the first two items, you may call the course – NO EARLIER THAN 2 DAYS BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT and ask if they have the tee times.

 

Signup Commitments

Please read the following CAREFULLY.  Once you have signed up for a tournament and the box has been picked up by the Tournament Chairman, YOU ARE FINANCIALLY COMMITTED FOR THAT TOURNAMENT!  NO EXCEPTIONS!

Being FINANCIALLY COMMITTED means the following:

1)   If you signup other individuals, you are then FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE for those individuals.

2)   You  (and others you sign up) are expected to be there for your tee time.

3)   If you cannot attend the tournament for some reason, YOU are responsible to arrange a MEMBER-ONLY replacement and alert the Tournament Chairman as soon as possible. Otherwise - you forfeit your green fees and sweeps payment.

5)   You remain financially responsible until such time that your member replacement calls the Tournament Chairman and verbally accepts your financial commitment.  Only at that time, has your obligation been removed.

6)  Should you signup and fail to show up, you will forfeit your prepaid green fees and the prize fund fees. No Exceptions!
