Gilliam Points List FAQs

Although this question is also answered in the Website FAQs, I thought I would elaborate further on a question posed thus far: what is the Gilliam Random Spotlight that is in the Member Spotlight box on the left side of the homepage?

It is simply a random member being pulled from the Gilliam Points List.  A different name appears on every page visit (including a page refresh).

It stemmed from a member's suggestion that the club's members should be given some recognition for their efforts.  So I wanted to implement something small, tasteful and a bit of fun.

Chances are you will see someone you know and you may even see your name appear.

An unknown feature of the  Gilliam Points List is that the columns are sortable.  Click on the column headers (top row) and the column will toggle between ascending/descending order.

If you haven't already seen it, there is a Gilliam Points List – Historical page showing the past few years of the points list on one page.  Simply select the year at the top.

Unlike the columns in the current year's Gilliam Points List, the columns on the historical page are not sortable because it adds extra load on the page which is another way of saying that the page slows down.  The page's overall performance is already affected by the number of years being pulled from the database so I decided to nix the sortable columns.
